Types of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are among the most frequently used kinds of crane in the construction industry. They are used to make everything from freeway overpasses and roadways to buildings and skyscrapers.
There is a large range of crane units, styles and sizes available on the market. There are many different kinds in order to serve a variety of different reasons in the industry. Choosing the best type of crane is really essential for making certain that the material can be transported safely and efficiently to the location it needs to get to in order for the construction process to commence.
Truck Cranes
Normally, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are really useful for building sites where a crane is needed in many different locations for the duration of the build. This is due to the fact that the crane is capable of being driven easily from one place to another.
Cranes can also be transported to different construction sites on the road because they drive themselves, that eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own really lessens transport expenses at the end of the day.
The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane can handle. Hence, in order to fix this problem, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers utilize hydraulic pressure in order to lift the truck slightly off of the ground, making it stable and balanced.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has huge tracks on the base of the crane. These huge tracks are really like backhoes and bulldozers. The tracks allow the crane to successfully move around a construction site.
