The forklift truck is an extremely big and powerful machine able to work efficiently and smoothly, lifting and transporting items within material handling orientated tasks. Numerous parts must be replaced regularly due to breakages and damages.
Forklifts are very versatile equipment. A range of different accessories could be fitted onto the machines in order to increase their capabilities and expand the jobs they are regularly able to complete. Several of the major different forklift accessories and components are described below.
Fork Extensions
Fork extensions are designed to fit over the forklift's regular forks. These forks are able to be changed entirely, or different parts can be added to them so the truck could lift a variety of different types of cargo such as telescopic loads, baskets, rollers, amongst others.
Forklift Bearings and Seals
The bearings and seals are particular forklift components which allow the inner workings of the machine to function in an efficient and optimum manner. Bearings enable two moving components of the equipment to work together smoothly, without any friction. If not properly fitted, seals and bearings could occasionally wear down or even break and these parts may need to be replaced periodically. If a bearing is the proper kind of bearing used for the machinery and it is correctly fitted, this specific forklift part could easily outlive the life expectancy of the entire apparatus.
Cabs
The forklift's cab is the section of the machinery where the operator sits and performs maneuvers. The cab can be open or it could have a roof, based on the particular unit. On a work site, this forklift component typically has a roof to comply with safety measures and reduce the risk of falling materials.
Brake Forklift Components
Lift trucks trucks have brakes that are required to be frequently checked in order to ensure they are in good working condition. Normally, these parts would need to be replaced due to damage or extended wear.
Tires and Wheels
The tires and the wheels are the lift truck components that are most normally damaged. Problems occur because of punctures from sharp objects on the floor and slashes from uneven and rough floor boards.
