Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They could run from LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
So as to avoid possible serious injury, specific safety measures must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be certain to wear the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
