How to Charge a Scissor Lift
A lot of individuals appreciate the convenience of using a scissor lift. The ease of working and the safety offered from the lift's basket offer much more piece of mind than trying to complete a similar task utilizing the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machine make it the best choice for carrying tasks from heights.
Nearly all scissor lifts are operated by batteries which are internally mounted inside the base of the lift. These batteries need to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple task to charge the batteries. This could be carried out without any specialized equipment or tools and requires no heavy labor.
The equipment needs to be positioned near an electrical output in order to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging area must also be in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the big red button found near the charger or the control box, inside the basket of the lift. Find the battery charger on the base of the lift on the right side. Normally, older models will have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.
The AC extension cord should next be plugged into the charger. Be sure to charge in a well ventilated place and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. So as to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any excess length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger can potentially take place.
