The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a typical forklift as the lifting attachment could be tilted backwards and forwards from its horizontal. The tilt that is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There is a large range of lifting attachments offered, and this positioning ability makes them as efficient as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Some units have rotating carriages too. This allows the operator to adjust the lifting attachment radially. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity quite similar to that of the vertical mast unit. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things like: boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on rubber tires or on outriggers, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. In addition, which lifting attachment plays a really important role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on and so forth. All of these specifics can be changing on a regular basis and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Telehandlers would usually have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the unit in particular, the load capacity may differ by thousands of pounds all together.
